Solo exhibition Pieta and lecture by Raoef Mamedov

Lecture by Raoef Mamedov on Saturday Februari 1 at KRONA Museum in Uden
with reprise on Saturday Februari 8 at Galerie Lilja Zakirova.

The KRONA Museum (the renewed museum for religious art) in Uden is at this moment showing the worldfamous polyptich The Last Supper by Raoef Mamedov, after Leonardo’s composition, where filmic theatre, arthistory, theology and digital editing are brought together in a postmodern style. With the prominant presence of what Raoef calls ‘his first class actors’, people with Down’s syndrome, he achieves his main goals: thinking, feeling, loving and sympathy.

For this occasion the Russian cineast/artist will, after a foreword by the museum director Wouter Prins, present a lecture (with Dutch synchronous translation) about his work on Saturday February 1 at 14:30. (Address: Veghelsedijk 25, Uden)

I would like to personally invite you for the new exhibition by Raoef Mamedov in the gallery with the never shown before project Pieta (with which the artist finished his pendant trilogy with the previous series The Last Supper and Games on the Window Sills). The exposition will be completed by works from these earlier polyptichs. The vernissage will take place on Februari 8 at 15:00 and will start by a lecture by the artist followed by a Q&A in the familiar atmosphere of the gallery. (rsvp)

Warm regards and perhaps until one of these special days,

Lilja Zakirova

PS Save the date: from March 19-22 the gallery will participate in the MIA art Fair in Milan.
(a great excuse to visit my stand and observe Leonardo’s work in the monastery Santa Maria delle Grazie).
